I'll be honest I don't rate him that much, he has some power and physicality but he's very basic.

The plus side is he's very young, I don't see any reason for rushing him, develop him over 2-3 years, get him in 12 rounders with tough journeymen, why has everything got to be rush rush rush all the time.

Yes the kid has the time. No need to rush. But I do believe he will be a true world champ in next 5 years.

I think in this heavyweight era he is one of the best eg top 6. Iam surprised he lost to Joe Joyce to be honest which suggests to me he may not be as good as I initially thought he was though.

Agreed. He’d need to be much a more of a natural in there too get too excited.
As an example my brother pulled me over to see the end of Tyson Fury’s pro debut and said “He will be HW Champ one day.” He makes nothing of it as it seemed obvious to him at the time. Course a million things could derail a fighters career.
I once told my whole family to get on the David Tua hype train. Course family naturally try to bust each other’s balls. It does make things fun. Tua looked good for one round vs Lennox then got painted with a couple hard jabs and a right hand or two. Then you knew it was a bridge too far and so did he unfortunately.
If Dubois can improve his skill, hype, credit more than it is now and prove that he deserves it, I’ll be impressed if not surprised.

Not much at all. He seems like a cool guy.

                I don’t rate him much

but it’s going to depend on the strength of the division. Fury and AJ are about 10 years older than him, Usyk even older. Joyce is older too, So they could probably be out of the game before he’s even 30.

So it’s largely dependent on how good the next wave of heavyweights are. People rate Jared Anderson highly but again, who really knows until he steps up

Dubois is very stiff, has quit once on his knee etc. but he can ****, has pretty good fundamentals too and that could take you a long way in the HW division if the likes of Fury and Usyk aren’t around.

He’s got good power but lacks the speed and intelligence to land anything much on any decent fighter.

He doesn’t move his head, is right in front of you, poor upper body movement.

                  Just very basic.

                  Makes AJ look slick

Na Joyce is good and underrated by many because he is SO SLOOOW.

But it’s more the manner of how Dubois lost than the fact he lost. He was just getting pummelled with the same jab over and over and Joyce wasn’t even throwing a right hand behind it. He couldn’t adapt to that jab in the slightest.

If he lost to Joyce in a brawl/firefight then you’d say it was a bad style matchup and Joyce pulled through with an iron chin. But he was getting ****ed up round after round with just one punch.

Fair points and it will be interesting to see whether Dubois can adapt and improve. My favourite heavyweight ever was Muhammad Ali. I use to love the way he moved around the ring and looked a natural boxing wise. Hypothetical I know but had Ali fought Joyce I think Ali would of beaten him due to his better skill set which sadly Dubois didnt have on the night. Dubois can improve but I feel you can only maximise what youve got .
