Berlanga is a desperate, biting maniac. In addition, he's not going to be the next Puerto Rican star. It's not going to happen , ever. He's just not that good.
Xander Zayas has a lot of potential. Maybe he'll be the one.
It has to be ORGANIC though. You can't manufacture a beloved sports figure. It just happens.
Stop trying to force it with Berlanga, nobody is fooled. Next Berlanga fight, you won't be able to give tickets away to.
    Thanks Bob.
So much truth to the bold. I put it this way: You can't force a star to shine. It's a natural process.

    • Berlanga had no effective aggression, and no effective boxing. He was sort of busier than Angulo I guess, but he wasnt effective at anything. Angulo was completely unfazed and could have gone 20 more rounds like that. Berlanga on the other hand was getting tagged here and there and got his face all bloodied up. But I didnt need to hear the results to know what it was gonna be. He got so worried he decided to try a biting move. My personal recommendation is to forget the biting move. If it's come to that, gotta use more fight IQ. Just knee him in the groin next time. And stomp on his head if he falls. It's more effective. The house ref could take five points and you'd still get the decision tonite. Gotta try it next time.

      • Xander Zayas is real.

It's going to be irritating when Berlanger loses and we get subjected to the fake shock and sadness. Everyone can see what this is. It's like a parody of a hype job.

        • This guy will get knocked out before he wins a title of any substance. Unless they avoid puncher's entirely. The ref must've been in the tank too having not warned Berlanga not once for holding. That was a hold - fest. The guy he fought wasn't a sharp puncher at all and he still managed to land a few good ones. One thing for sure, Berlanga doesn't react well when he gets tagged. He's a good fighter who's going to struggle at the inevitable next level.

That's funny, I don't know much about Angulo but I thought dude looked pretty good for 38. He was looking younger than Berlanga in there imo. If anything he should have utilized a jab and he might have won the fight. You got younger boxers that don't really let their hands go for long stretches like Tank, the power just bails him out..If it wasn't for that Tank would have several loses on his record at this point...

                • This Berlanga kid is delusional. He truly believes he already made it. That night is nearly reserved for a proven PR Star/Champion and since we don't have one, then nobody should get it. Go earn it first by winning a title. Xander Zayas is the only guy that has potential right now. If TR is going to do event like this to showcase young fighters, Zayas should be headlining it and Berlanga should be lost somewhere in the undercard.

                  • Berlanga keeps getting exposed. He was fortunate tonight. Ángulo was the aggressor throughout and was never hurt. What happened to the vaunted Berlanga’s power?
