From what I could make out about the reasons why Canelo left GBP, it seemed that Canelo didn't like the amount of control Oscar has over the money his fighters get from DAZN, and fees were being negotiated without his knowledge. If Oscar would do that with Canelo, you can bet he would do the same - and worse - with a guy like Munguia.

A promoter should not have the power to tell fighters what platforms they can and cannot fight on. Isn't that what the Muhammad Ali act is supposed to prevent in the US?

The truth is the truth and it doesn’t matter who’s telling it. Some fighters are over protected, babied, and defended. If you that have a world title you are entititled to defend it like Jaime Munguía did, five times in a very short period, not pick choose a weak opponent and wait if he happens to hurt himself. I hear more criticism about who Munguía ( a now a non title holder) fights, than on who these “champions” don’t fight. Al Haymon has a book of excuses thicker than the Bible for all his fighters.

Charlo definitely needs to grow some balls. But not to fight munguia. He already agreed to that fight. Oscar got in the way talking about a joint venture with dazn and showtime.

Notice how Oscar is calling for Lara vs Munguia, Oscar just wants the money. Munguia was seriously stunned by Gary O'Sullivan, Charlo would absolutely destroy that hype job Munguia.
