I’m thinking upset in this one! Berlanga opponent has fought at the highest level and only was stopped by Benavidez so we all know Berlanga doesn’t take it well, so if this guy has any offense at all left, it’s a rap. Bet on the upset!

yeah right now I see him a step or 2 below from when Canelo fought Cotto's brother and Canelo was a lot younger and learned a lot from that fight. I don't see him that dedicated, a dedicated fighter doesn't talk about respect he gets it in the ring.

To me his team isn't that good they should have seen these flaws and mistakes that he keeps making and had him address them or correct them at the minimum make less of them. He's been making the same mistakes for what looks to be his whole career we have just seen it on TV his past 2 fights that went the distance so they know its there (I hope but have major doubts) and after the first fight he went the distance, he didn't correct any of those mistakes what make you think they can correct them now if his team even knows about them.

I mean those mistakes were fundamental boxing mistakes that shouldn't be made by a guy at 25 years old that is on the cusp of being "elite" unless he was relying on his power to bail him out of trouble which he has been and probably will for the rest of his career. Just like Jeff left hook lacy.

Definitely loads up on his punches, no exit strategy, and no ability to make adjustments. Just does the same thing. Worked for Deontay Wilder for a long time though, so maybe it will work for him too. There are a lot of boxers out there who are similarly one dimensional.

Sucks Xander had to pull out of his fight on this card. He’s the PR fighter that should be getting the hype and push from the media.

Berlanga started with all those KOs and got too much hype. If possible he needs to learn more fundamentals and stop just loading up because it’s obvious that’s not gonna work when he gets in there vs better competition.

He had a good run of 1st round KO’s, a good streak. There is a market for that, regardless of the quality of opponents he KO’ed. Some fans don’t care about who a fighter is KO’ing. Just look at some of the top fighters who fight lower level fighters, or old/past prime fighters, but KO them, and move up in the ranks and become P4P stars.

But once you move up in quality and start winning decisions, you are forgotten, labeled overrated, labeled never that good to begin with, etc. But Berlanga didn’t just stop trying. He throws power shots, he lands good, meaningful punches. It’s not like he became a scared fighter and only throws jabs and clinching for 12 rounds.

He needs to look at the greats from before him who had to adapt due to not having a good chin, like Wladimir Klitschko. Being chinny is not the end.

Anyway, this guy is 19-0 but has been mentally defeated by fans. He now comes off as if he’s 16-3 with 3 TKO losses. His stock has really dropped. Even way before he lost his KO streak, I had already seen him get badly hurt in the first round of one of his fights, I think a couple of them. That’s what happens when you’re careless. He needs to go look at prime Tyson, that head movement, that bobbing and weaving. He can get his confidence back if he just forgets about his critics. It’s like he was humiliated like Rolly Romero…he is still undefeated and can still end up being a great fighter if he can focus and adapt.

Can’t wait for this kid to lose so Zayas can get his rightful spot.

That 1st round ko streak gimmick completely hindered this kids progression. He has no experience, skills or mental toughness to fall back on. 2 fights in a row he’s looked like crap against low tier opposition. Unless he makes a significant change in his game, he’s food for any live body

He bought into his own hype. Started to and probably still believes he’s better than he really is. Plenty of blame to go around for that- the match making, his trainers not keeping him down to earth & his own youthful ignorance.

he CAN get better he just doesn’t seem to have rhe discipline or the team around him to do it. Kids too busy hanging with celebrities & buying ***elry, acting like he’s big time when he hasn’t done anything substantial yet

Berlanga is one dimensional. As his competition gets steeper his power wont always be there to bail him out hes gotta be more dynamic and find other ways to win.
