Comments Thread For: Kambosos: Every Time I Tried To Exchange, Haney Held; He Did Hold A Lot

Finally someone mentions the hugging !!!! That is how Floyd Mayweather won most of his fights, and that is how most African-American boxers win nowadays. The referees are so scared of deducting points ( instinctively afraid of being called racists ), that they let them do that the entire fight, like in a wrestling match. They even hug after they land the punch so the oppponent canīt punch back !!!! Imagine in a judo match, allowing fighters to punch!! This needs to stop, other boxers and fans are getting tired of this nonsense. Soon averyone will start doing it....jab, obtain a point, hug, run...jab, a point, hug, run...etc. There should be an amount of hugs per round ( 2 ) after that, itīs a point deduction, after that, disqualification.

Boring or not. Unfortunately all BOXERS are not going to go to the middle of the ring and swing for the fences. The goal is to hit and not be it. The excuses always come out post fight. It's to be expected.

That said, I find it very hard to separate the word dirty and cheating. If it was any other sport, I would have agreed with you.
I’ve seen Hopkins use all the dirty tricks imaginable, including cheating his way to a NC fight when he fell out of the ring and “broke” his arm.
Hopkins is a straight up lying, dirty and cheating bastard, however, he fought into his fifties and beat guys that were literally 20 years younger than him. Guys that knew of his style and should have borrowed that style to beat him in his own game, but they didn’t. It’s their loss.
Haney’s style while questionable, neutralized Kamboso. And this is the part I make a huge distinction, European (including Aussies) and African fighters just cannot adjust to African-American style of boxing, that’s why a vast majority of them get beat.
Haney is 23 so I think the next few fights will define him. I’m not going to shït on him for traveling to Australia where I thought he was going to get robbed and accept all of Kamboso’s terms including two more fights. That’s called cheating on Kamboso’s part. Using the belts to leverage what’s best for him. This loss is comeuppance.

George go and look at Fenech Nelson 1, although Fenech was robbed that's what you needed to do.

So he needs to look in the mirror and be honest with himself. And he needs to be honest with his team for a complete lack of a game plan or the ability to adjust. I was already up on Haney for his run and hug tactics with Linares. So for me to see him do it again from round one was just too much. And he will do it again because it worked for him. The ref let it go, and Kambosos had no answer. So I'm positive we'll see these tactics again in his next fight.
And I’m going to watch the last three fights of Haney. This time I’ll pay attention to his tactics.

You are reading too much into what I wrote. I never said African American fighters cheat.
And I never said it was ok to cheat or to ok to get a pass. I never said that.
I’m talking about a clash of styles. If you take the best fighter out of the US to fight the best out of Europe, often times, the American will win.
Perhaps you should read more of Breadman’s Q & A’s
