I like Callum Johnson strategy which was to jump right into the FIRE with him and try to get to him first. Jeff Page Jr also caught him and dropped him two with an exchange on the inside! I think that is what Joe Smith needs to do as well, try to clip him and hurt him before he hurts you

The man is a Absolutely MONSTER, nobody at 168-175 are Slick like that anyway so he really don't have that style to worry about at 175. Inside Fighting and just mixing things up is the only way. I think like vs Gvozdyk, if the gameplan is the just avoid his Power, You will get broken down and stopped just like Gvozdyk and Marcus Browne recently. Marcus Browne is as Athletic as you will get at 175 and Beterbiev had no problem cutting the ring against him and getting to him
I agree, the only way to stop him is caught him early while he is still cold and pray for a Hail Mary.

It's the right strategy. Betebiev is so good using his jab and footwork to cut off the ring that he prefers it when you "run" from him.

Actually, the same was true for GGG, Kovalev and others. They didn't lose because they fought a "slick defensive boxer." They lost when people finally realized the best way to beat them was to pressure them.

Don’t get me wrong, both tremendous fighters but nobody just walks through Bivol, no chance,

It’s really the only fight that matters at 175 though, providing Beterbiev gets through Joe Smith which is no certainty, he can crack too.
Change your name to rise of a clown.

AS much as a fan I am of Bivol, Beterbiev annihilates him in 10 or less.

Everyone picking Bivol here is on Clenelo's bandwagon? Just making a honest question.

A peak Chad Dawson, Andre Ward and even the Bernard Hopkins who fought Tarver would beat Beterbiev in my opinion.

I think it is clear what style would beat him. But these days, fighters are lacking slickness.

Yet a "slick" Gvozdyk who would have been on par with Ward couldn't last... A prime Dawson would have suffer hell with his style and a prime Hopkins didn't have anything to make him back up...
