I just give the facts. Franchise Champions don't have mandos so Haney would have been kept waiting.

Mandatories are garbage anyway. I'd rather boxing get rid of them.

Did Floyd ever fight a mandatory in his entire career? Pacquaio? I don't remember either of them ever having one.

How can you not have rankings and a top challenger that emerges for the champion to face? Without a system like that some champs would fight nothing but one soft touch after another.

The only thing that messes that up currently is the multiple sanctioning bodies. But that is a sanctioning body issue, not a mando issue.

I'd rather boxing get rid of three of the orgs and just have one.

9 times out of 10 the "mandatories" are garbage and aren't even ranked in the Top 10.

Like I said, when did Floyd fight a mandatory? When did Pacquaio fight a mandatory? I don't recall either of them ever fighting one.

Robert Guerrero was a Floyd mando if I recalI correctly.

The reason mandatories can be watered down SOMETIMES is because each alphabet group has a different one. And they usually won't even include in their rankings the top contender of a rival org.

Get rid of all the alphabets except one and I bet the rankings and the mandatory will improve immensely.

Guererro was interim, he was never mandated to fight Floyd. Floyd chose him like he chose all of his fights. Why didn't he fight any mandatories? Because you can't sell that garbage on PPV that's why.

The vast majority of mandatories are unranked, garbage opponents. That's just a fact.

                  I stand corrected on Guerrero.

If Floyd didn't fight any mandatories it's because he had bigger money fights available with other champions.

But my other point still stands. If you want the vast majority of mandos to NOT be unranked, garbage opponents? Then the change that should be made is having only one set of rankings and only one world champion per weight class.

It's a nice idea but it's never going to happen.

With that fact in place, I'd rather get rid of mandatories totally.

Once in a blue moon you'll get a top fighter like Haney in a mandatory position like he was last weekend, but the vast majority of the time it's crap.
