Cong**** to Haney. He fights in my least favorite boxing style but I have to give credit for taking such a rough deal contractually to make this fight happen and then traveling all the way to Australia and getting it done easily. He deserves to talk his shet right now, he made sacrifices to put himself in this position and now he’s got all the belts.

Good post. Bivol did this as well. I hope this becomes a trend of guys taking a crap deal if they are absolutely confident in them winning and taking the belts from the champs. It’ll pay off dividends in the end. Take notes Boots Ennis.

Yeah it does Dan. Haney was a legit mando that got screwed out of a fair title shot. Loma gave him the belt. How anyone holds that against Haney makes no sense to me.

If Loma gave him the belt because he was going to get surgery or go fight the war- I’d 100% agree with you.

But when you’re the mando and the champ gives you the belt to avoid a defense, I can’t hold that against the challenger given the belt.

I find Haney boring, but I agree that you can't hold the email belt issue against Haney. He could've waited, but he didn't have to.

That said, Loma fighting Teo was not a "cowardly decision" because Lopez was seen as the more dangerous fighter.

I don't hold it against Haney, it's no fault of his own. But the fact of the matter is he didn't win the belt, therefore he's not a legit champion. It's not fair, but such is life.

You have to win a championship be a legit champion. Simple as that really.

U joking right? I had a rack on Haney by decision cause that’s all my site would let me bet. I’m the guy who had bivol by decision and outright win for a 2 rack stake. I like Haney I think he’s talented. I always win money on his fights. I’m just pointing a couple things out. If he had waited he wouldve fought teofimo not kambumsauce. Also wouldn’t have had a mandatory rematch clause. These are all facts. Haney is a real talent, he no hate here at all. I’d like to see him vs an elite opponent now that’s he’s undisputed.
