The belt might be worthless, but his fighting skills aren't, and although he's not accepted or respected by some boxing fans.
I do believe that will change in the near future, because he is that formidable of a foe in the ring.

I'm 100% in agreement with maguirre, that'll be one hell of a firefight, and I'm not sure who'll be left standing after the smoke clears.

Exactly we'll never know what the outcome would be, unless they both get in the ring to fight each other, talk is cheap coming from both sides.

That quote a little bit sarcastic, replying to another poster.

Benavidez: Not close to ready in my opinion

Plant: Interesting, but I still don’t think Morrell is ready

            Dirrell: Lol yeah you’re ready

My reply was to your post "He has a worthless belt, who gave it to him?".
I don't know if you have ever looked up David Morrell's record, but for someone with only 7 fights it is impressive!
The total win, loss, draw, and KO's of Morrel's opponents are 115-18-6 (68 KO's), while Benavides' opponents are 2-7-0 (1KO).
Benavides' opponents still hadn't come close to a comparable win, loss, draw, and KO, into his 14th fight 106-63-8 (49 KO's).
Now that's twice as many fights, and his opponents record still did have as many wins, but more than triple the amount of losses.
So I'm asking you in all sincerity where is the sarcasm, which I assure you I wasn't being sarcastic not even a little bit, as you put it?
I was trying to explain my point about your opinion, that's even before I looked into it further, and was shocked to see how much better Morrell's opponents were than Benavidez at the beginning of their career's.

He is one of Morrell's biggest supporters. You misunderstood what he said.

I agreed with you 100%, the sarcasm was not direct it to you. When you quote me I had reply to another person with that post. And you're off on about 15 more wins and one loss for DMJ opponents. I did the math before his last fight, just to compare when did benavidez started fighting the same competition Morrell's jr had in 6 fights. From 12 to 18 is where they have face similar competition. Of course we have to take into consideration that by the time benavidez had 12 professional fights, he didn't have much experience as an amateur, Morell jr alrady had 130-2 amateur record. So why wait 3 years and 25 more journeymen to face each other? Morell jr ain't David Reid, and benavidez is not Calzaghe.

Thank you, I support every fighter that wants to challenge himself, I haven't seen any Cuban fighter ducking any top dog. Be safe

I agree 100%, and I apologies for any misunderstanding's on my part, also my math was probably off because I was interrupted a few time's when I was doing the math.
I like watch both fighters ply their trade, and we don't know yet if either one, if not both turn out to be better the two fighters aren't as good as.
They might not even come close to emulating their ring accomplishment's, but for sure at this stage in their career's they aren't in Reid's, or Calzaghe's class.
That said I'm looking forward to Benavides, and Morrell facing off against all of the fighters that are ranked in the 168 pound division, or if the move up in the Cruiser Weight division.
