Look at this guys boxrec, 95% fights in Panama, some Africa, Haiti, Russia, etc and a sprinkle here and there on the big stage for the US. Why was this guy picked? Pretty easy question to answer imho.

George Kambosos slammed referee Hector Afu for allowing Devin Haney to hold him during their world title showdown on Sunday, insisting the tactic resulted in a ‘boring’ fight.

I felt when I landed my punches he was hurt every time. But the ref didn’t give us any help with the holding. I’m not going to take anything away from him. He just did what he does: he taps and runs. Very boring. I wanted to give this crowd a great fight, I tried my best. Any time it got hard for him, he held a lot. The referee should’ve warned him. I wasn’t frustrated, but the ref should have done his job.

Castano vs Charlo 1

A blown non-call by the referee Hector Afu cost Castano the victory by failing to give him credit for a knockdown in the third round when he hurt Charlo, causing him to fall into the ropes.

The ropes held the stunned Charlo up, preventing him from falling. Had the referee made the right call, Castano would have won the decision, even with the bad scores that the three judges turned in.

Dirrell vs Froch aka The Robbery in Nottingham

In the ring, Froch had no answer for Dirrell's speed and skill, aside from trying to turn things into an ugly wrestling match. During the fight Froch tossed Dirrell to the canvas and repeatedly held and hit, including to the back of the head.

Yet referee Hector Afu took a point from Dirrell in Round 10.

Breaking up fighting on the inside only benefits one fighter and one fighter alone ---> Devin Haney. I called it and it happened.

One thing is for sure, when Rolly Romero was asked who would win in the Kambo vs Haney fight, he said "The Fans Lose." We all laughed, heartedly ---> includig myself, but at the end of the day, much respect to Rolly for calling that.

War Room, check it. Here's a competent referee not letting a guy duck down like that. He explains that you can't hit a guy when he ducks down, which is what Haney was doing. He was cheating by preventing George from having any legal areas to punch. That referee did absolutely nothing.

Not sure if you've seen the fight, but I saw Dirrell vs Froch live and that fight was crazy! Afu let Froch hit behind the head all night and do all kinds of crazy shit, then he takes a point from Dirrell. Obviously on the take and should be banned from the sport. I will make a compilation when I get more time.

I wouldn't have even known if the broadcaster last night didn't bring this up right before the fight happened. Tessitore or someone else.
