Yes they did. And even though we can rightfully complain about excessive hugging, at least at the end of the day we can take comfort in knowing that excessive hugging never leads to cte or other serious harm. In fact it's nice to see a hug every once in awhile. It's a nice break from the viciousness we normally see in boxing.

Got it. It’s my fault. Lmfao.

Yes, Haney neutralized Kambosos offense. Kambosos wasn’t good enough to adjust to that. The ref didn’t penalize either guy for fouls. To suggest the fight wasn’t fair is just sour g****s on your part.

Kambosos fought like a dude who had a rematch clause, same as Canelo with Bivol. At no point did Kambosos risk getting ktfo to press forward to land. He had to know he was way down on the cards. He was willing to lose by wide UD and hope the home judges deflated the score.

Fine if you’re rooting for him. My issue is you’re not adult enough to just admit Haney is the much better boxer and simply dominated him.

And let’s be clear- if you actually want a rematch then you’re the idiot killing the sport because there is no reason, other than contractual mandate, for them to fight again.

Why waste fans time with another 12-0 shutout when we can make Haney/Loma, the 2 best LW’s in the world?

It's really up to the referee to determine if the fighter should be penalized for it or not. However, I admit that when hugging becomes the main defensive weapon on the inside, as opposed to the fighter being hurt, it does make the fights less exciting.

The clinching aspect I agree on to an extent.Fine when used to recover after being hurt but when it's continuously done to prevent a fighter from getting his offense off while on the inside then points and possible DQ should be given no doubt. Haney didn't reach those levels last night but his clinching makes for really boring performances like last night. I always maintained it a case of Kambo just being at the right time, right place when he fought Teo and favored Haney to beat him comfortably so there's no hate on my end. Truth of the matter is,stylistically Haneys style is an eye sore to watch, almost Richard Abril-esque.

I got Loma comfortably outboxing him. I'd say Ryan has a good shot of beating him as well. Tank never finds an opening or closes the distance on the bigger, longer skilled Haney and gets badly outboxed on the outside in lopsided decision loss.

Actually it was illegal until it's stopped being enforced. I haven't seen a boxer get dqued for excessive holding in years. Another thing you couldn't do is crouch or bend down below your waist level like Whittaker would do sometimes. You couldn't turn your back which Floyd would do in a sneaky sort of way. The lack of enforcement of these shady tactics has led to a decline in quality fights and I think a decline in fans.

One thing I think everyone can agree on is that that fight was boring, and boring fights (particularly boring world championship fights) are bad for the sport

Yeah, Whitaker's defensive skill was based on ducking below waist level. People suppose him one in zillion fighter smh.. If boxing rules are applied 100%, there would be much lesser ATGs, HOFs and champions.

Boxing should be fair sport and needs new regulations. If fighters do these illegal moves too much, they should be DQed. These dirty skills are very effective on result of fights. Much more effective than PEDs or other shıts.
You mean like when Fury pushed Whyte over with both hands or when he hit and held Cunningham to win? You can't just be calling for moves to be banned when it's your guy losing. I say ban all of these moves but what people here really want - is moves to be banned to help their guy win.

The same should go for boxers avoiding almost everyone in the top-10 and claiming they are the greatest heavyweight of their generation.

Boxing is a messed up sport with ton of arbitrary belts where the best don't even fight the best 80% of the time AND when fans here actively complain when a promoter matches a boxer with quality opposition because he loses (Canelo is just the latest) - you have to say that people support that. Is really sad.
