It's funny you bring up Morell to avoid the fact that Charlo isn't stepping up. We call that projecting. Lol always love this response, I would gladly ask him why he called out Benavidez when he clearly doesn't want to fight.

Charlo is just stalling till he gets his big money shot . Charlo needs to earn that shot. His brother is atleast fighting the best in that lame division of his at 154. Hopefully He will fight Tzyu , Crawford and, Fundora before running to 160. He has been active though and fightimng good guys. You know Jermell wont fight Spence. , so that leaves Craford , Fundora, and Tszyu. Jermall however , give me a break. Fight Andrade, Plant, Munguia even before fighting Canelo.

Benavidez could fight Plant and Andrade get them out of the way. Also beat up Morrell too. Charlo wont fight him. so he could run through these guys. Then maybe meet Canelo/Bivol/ !75 lb unified champ nexy year.

Whoever he ends up fighting Benevidez is the one to watch at 168. I want to see him make an attempt on Canelo's belts next year, after the loss to Bivol it's time to get back to the roots and remind people that he's undisputed in super middleweight, if he indeed still has the chops for that title defense. Elsewise, new champs big upsets are always good for the sport.

I don't think he's looking to move up to 175 for Bivol though.

I think the Charlo brothers and pbc have a grand strategy and that's for Mall to go up to 168 and wait around for Canelo there, of course Id prefer he fight for either Benavidez or Morell's belts if possible in the meantime. That would then leave Mell to fight for the vacated wbc 160 belt, ideally with Adames, another pbc guy. Or challenge Lara for the wba regular, also a pbc guy. Possibly a triple G payday on the horizon for Mell, if you ask me.

If given the opportunity, Benavidez would fight Charlo next week and any student of the game would acknowledge that.

Sure a case can be made that the PBC has a limited stable at 160lbs and that's why his opponents are sub par. A case can also be made that stepping up to Benavidez at 168lbs is a massive risk...especially for Charlo, a guy that always seems to enjoy the psychical advantage. A case can be made that the risk out weighs the benefits.

BUT.... to claim that Benavidez would avoid a fight with Charlo is purely delusional. Carlo on the other hand, in-spite of what he claims, wants nothing to do with David Benavidez.
