Caballero is garbage. It's tough to compare the two wins over De Leon...

But you just need to watch him to know that he'll get starched by anyone with skills. Two fights ago, he pretty clearly lost a stay busy fight.

But that's not even my point. My point is that just because Luevano's name is being thrown around, people shouldn't get all over Lopez. First of all, Luevano aint no scrub, and is probably a tougher opponent.

Second, like I said earlier, Lopez has a fight on October 10. NOTHING we hear means **** until after that fight is over. The promoters aren't gonna seriously be working on a fight before that one. That's why I'm saying, wait till early November before we start hating on Lopez for ducking Caballero....right now it's too soon to say anything on the matter.

And I aint a big Lopez fan...

I'm assuming you're calling Cab garbage and praise Luevano so it can be seen as a legit excuse for the fight to take place. He got a gift decision at his home place.....how many times have we seen that though?? It happens EVERYWHERE. I saw it as a draw but a lot of people didn't so I'm going off that. Luevano needs to rematch Mario Santiago anyways and quit running.

What person that is garbage is a champion with 2 BELTS?? He's also ranked higher than JML. He may not be gifted with skills but he goes out there and fight and TRIES to make IMPORTANT fights happen.

My response is also to talk **** to JML fanatics on how its a done deal and stuff. Since they were all over me when it was posted that it was 90% done according to JML's manager.

Oh, I knew it was never a done deal. To be honest, I'd still be surprised if it happened. But that's just Arum having tunnel vision to the Gamboa fight, it's not Lopez being "scared" or anything.

Caballero beat Molitor for the other belt, another bum. I really don't see anything impressive with Caballero.

I agree that Santiago/Luevano 2 needs to happen. But I'm not sure if you caught this the other day, but Rafeal from ESPN said he talked to Arum and they said they were trying to put a Boxing After Dark card up with Gamboa/Luevano on the undercard of Juanma/Caballero. How sick of a B.A.D card would that be?

Molitor is a better win in my opinion than most of JML's opponents after Ponce. With the exclusion of Pen. Nothing special either.

You're right about the tunnel vision with Gamboa. Seems like Arum doesn't want to risk anything to mess it up.

Yes it would be a hell of a card. Just sucks that Gamboa is getting the star treatment while other boxers are just as deserving.

Great so he tests the waters in with a Featherweight champion before matchng up with Gamboa and knock that other Cuban prospect off everyones watch list. He could also try getting Chris John in the ring.

Lopez still has a fight on Oct. 10. NOTHING will really be deeply discussed until after that fight. Everything we're hearing now means virtually nothing.

If it's late October/early November and we're not hearing anything, then it's time to panic.
I agree, first JuanMa has to get past Roger M. and THEN other fights will be discussed. I believe Caballero will be next.. and Pelenchin's akward style of reaching (although he does use his reach to his advantage) will come up short once JuanMa unloads inside... this whole Steven Luevano is probably just to create more hype of JuanMa "ducking" Pelenchin

To me I think this is just to keep everybody on their toes, and to start matching fighters around. Arum is looking for possible candidates for his new money cow and seeing what ppl want 2 c. If he see ppl asking for that celestino fight, to me he's going to try to hold it the most he can and try to put this two guys against somebody else until April or so until he can build a big ppv card, right now there's to much going on on ppv.

I'd take JuanMa fighting this man over Caballero anyday.

This is just like the Pavlik-AA thing. Arum kept saying that the fight would probably happen at some point in the future, or in 2 fights time, but he just kept putting it off over and over again.

Arum clearly doesn't want to put his guy up against Caba.

Luevano is a very good fighter, but to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if GBP are planning to make John-Luevano after tomorrow night, and Arum is just setting things up so that he can claim he wanted the fight but wasn't able to get it.
