Deontay Wilder is almost never at a loss for words. A hometown presentation in his honor nearly brought the former WBC heavyweight champion to that point, as Wilder (42-2-1, 41KOs) fought back tears while addressing his adoring public Tuesday afternoon in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. A ceremony was held to present a life-size statue of his likeness to remain on permanent display in front of the Tuscaloosa Visitor's Center in downtown Tuscaloosa.

I'd like to see him get back on top. I know boxing needs him in the mix.

YES! Boxing is much more exciting with Deontay wilder around.

Just hope the fury fights didn’t take too much out of him both mentally and physically cause he took some brutal beatings

Great news, Wilder is still one of the main players in the division.

I want to see him splatter Whyte all over the ring.

Hell yeah! So what he lost to the BEST HW. He did WAY better then Whyte did!

You know that those types of fights take months and years off your life. I’d like to see him back in the mix myself!

I take it the life sized statue wasnt just 6 foot 7 of brass horizontally sculpted to replicate when Fury starched him?

                  Good for him.

I'm glad to see the brother back

He's still a freak of nature even at 35/36 years old.

He needs to maximize his explosiveness, his towering size and jab more.

He could fit that mouth over a parking meter. I wonder if the statue's mouth is open like the picture. Was that his pose for the sculptor?
