Let’s no rewrite history. Oscar saved Canelo from his crap deal and made him the face of boxing and ended up paying $20 million out of his own pocket for it. Canelo then took a huge dump on Oscar starting the next day.
What I remember was Golden Boy Promotions vacated 1 of his belts without him accepting and at that time Canelo was trying to become undisputed at middleweight.
When Canelo was being sued by some promoter down in Florida, numbers came up and showed Golden Boy making a huge profit and Canelo was not aware of this so that also made him resentful.
This is what I remember, some one correct me if I am wrong.

Its certainly not the biggest fight in boxing, but it's a worthy one and understandable after their close fights.
Wise for Canelo to take this fight and not go straight into a rematch with Bivol. At this stage, I can see a brutal fight and I think Canelo, at super middleweight, has too much for GGG.Comment

He literally spoke about this after the pair of Canelo fights. He felt wronged by the business side of boxing. It changed him as a person. Why do you think he doesn't come out with his whole "Big Drama Show" schtick anymore? Because he feels wronged by the politics of boxing. He even admitted that Undisputed is no longer his main goal but only the big fights. Undisputed no longer drives him it's him being aware of his age and how politics never favored him.Comment

This would literally become my favorite boxing memory if it happens. To see GGG get vindicated on this stage against a fighter that came up dirty before their rematch is going to feel so good.Comment

I am intrigued because I've been saying for a long time that a move to 168 will benefit Golovkin. Another aspect of intrigue is Canelo's decrease in output, which as a percentage, is a pretty big drop off from their 2nd fight. As we've seen in that fight, the Derevyanchenko and Murata fights, is that high output fighters give Golovkin the most trouble, especially at his age. Alvarez doesn't throw nearly enough anymore and as we saw against Bivol, he was the most exhausted we've ever seen him. Adding to that, he has to come back down AGAIN. That **** will take its toll and maybe it's already starting to. You still have to favor Canelo but there's a few factors that don't make this as one-sided as many think it'll be.Comment

Waste of time in my humble opinion, i think its fools gold to think GGG will capitalize off bivol win, retirement money for the MW champ, and if indeed it is his last fight (speculation don’t get at me) then just vacate the titles so the MW division can proceed with the other rankings etcComment

I did not make this up, I remember a few interviews where canelo opens up a bit about it. I am not saying either is right.
No history is being rewritten, both have their own version.Comment
