Morrell is all wrong for Bena*******

I still don't get what you saw, he pummeled a 15-1 guy with 11 ko's, nonstop action, and because of that, benavidez, who fought a crude undersized over the hill boxer, is going to murder Morell jr. You're brilliant, just comment, you might not know that benavidez in his 7 fight fought a guy 1-0, who now has a record of 1-20-0, 19 of those losses by KO. If you don't like the kid, just come out and say it, who else could challenge benavidez at that weight? That's the question you need to ask yourself.Comment

To be fair you have to take note of Henderson's opposition, he has a decent record but none of the boxers he has fought are widely recognized though credit to Morrell being the first one to TKO him quite early:

Also not sure how Benavidez fighting a cab driver would matter since Benavidez and Morrell have differing backgrounds, Morrell was given a fight for the belt in his third bout because he was already a renown highly decorated amateur boxer like lets say Lomachenko or Meldrick Taylor. Benavidez did not and is gradually improving by facing professional boxers.
Just point out how different their careers are, Benavidez debuted 9 years ago meaning that in his 7th bout he was around 17 years old.Last edited by Malvado; 06-05-2022, 05:24 PM.Comment

You hit the point. Morell doesn't need 25 fights to fight benavidez, but some fans think he have to fight 25 bums in order to call out benavidez. That's what I have been arguing. Two different careers on the same path. Why should Morell jr fight an aging past his prime boxer, like jacobs, and I'm mentioning him because one of the poster brought him up, he said the Cuban should fight some like him before calling out benavidez. Another that was mentioned was ryder, he had his chance and decided to fight jacobs, for the same position he was in anyway. Be safe and I do agreed with you.

I saw a guy looking for a KO that looked sloppy in spots, got hit too much and didn't display the type of punching power that would tame Benavidez. I'm not saying he didn't have a good win, I'm saying he didn't look ready for Benavidez.

Benavidez is a top 168lbs fighter, while Morrell looks like a prospect. Maybe in the future he can challenge Benavidez but if they fight next Benavidez beats him to a pulp.
The fighters Benavidez should be fighting are Canelo, Plant, BJS, Charlo (if he moves up), Andrade, etc. And even against this line up, Benavidez would be either a favorite or pretty close to even money.
You know who would be a good opponent for Morrell? Berlanga, feed that hype job to Morrel and he'll start getting more camera time as he develops into a future title challenger and potentially a star.Comment

I'll not put money on saunders, plant, andrade nor charlo against Morell jr. Let's see what happens next. Like I say in another post, Morell jr will not gain any experience by fighting boxers he's supossed to beat. He needs those challenges, and if he loses so what? It will make him stronger.

You might be right, I kind of agreed with you. But do you think any of those guys will sign? That's the problem when finding opponents for Morrell Jr. Only the mid-tier fighters will face him, with the hope that a victory would put them upthere. The upper echelon, not so much. So what can he do?Comment
