I think most people did, but at least part of it was Joyce looking far more uncomfortable than you would imagine given his pedigree against a southpaw. Zhang could not miss with that backhand left.

Very risky fight for them to take though. Interesting to see where both go from here.

Yeah I do think Joyce flattered him by being so incapable of dealing with the left hand.

I’m just not sure Joyce has enough time to go an alternative route, I think he has to take it tbh.

Cacace defending against a Polish fighter called Wrzesinski on the Lopez-Conlan card.

Azim card announced as well, another poor card from Shalom, at least it’s at the right venue though. Some baby steps at least.

It is a (fairly) poor card. I guess the Riley rematch can be forgiven because the English is tied up at the minute but still it seems a bit pointless. Treading water a bit. Can't they get him to fight for an Area title or something? Not sure what to think of McKenna-Thompson, seems a decent fight on paper but neither of them really seem to be pulling up trees in their careers. Boost for the winner I guess. Frazer fighting is a bit risky because the opponent is almost guaranteed to be rubbish and that'll put people off + you've got the chance of a cut like his last fight or something else going wrong. Main event will likely be a bit of a formality as well.

From a decent start (the main event could compete with Boxxer and MR's offerings) the Conlan card seems to have gone downhill a bit. No opponent for McCrory, Cacace's opponent is a bit of a shocker etc. I doubt they'll care though, sells out anyway you'd think. Not sure what's the better card that day? The only real advantage I can see is Boxxer's chief support is far better than Matchroom's entertainment-wise. Eggington-Pigford is class but there's some good matchups on the Wood-Lara II card (Conway-Udofia should be good).

I think this Riley is a bit of a gimmick tbh, I don’t see much potential in him. The matchmaking is a bit suspect too IMO.

McCrory was meant to be fighting Falcao in a WBA eliminator, don’t know what happened with that one. McCrory has been dropped from the rankings now though.

I might go to Lara-Wood 2 but if I don’t probably leaning towards the Boxxer card. I’ll just record the other two and avoid the results.

Same Falcao that's now in with Morrell? Bizarre if they're going a different route, that's probably a winnable fight and would've got him right up there. Oh yeah Riley's no world-beater, but I think there's some interesting fights to be had up to a certain level and he'll bring a certain audience in.

Yeah good shout re: recording, decent night & morning's boxing to be had there to be fair. Shame they all had to go that date though.

Yeah Yamaguchi is it? I always get them confused. McCrory has definitely lost momentum following his upset win out in Germany.

Yeah it’s unfortunate, was hoping one of them would’ve went Sunday with it being a bank holiday.

Yeah Esquiva is the middleweight I think. McCrory's team turned down a fight with Arthur didn't they? On the evidence of Arthur's performance against Crighton he might have won.

I’m not too sure tbh, I know Arthur was chasing the IBO title but McCrory’s plan was always to go back to 168.

I agree he’d beat Arthur. Arthur is a domestic level Light Heavyweight IMO.
