As others have said, I don't think MR offered him a fight until the Canelo-GGG III card (against Akhmedov, who'd been beaten by Gongora, who Lerrone fought at the back end of 2021). He was rumoured to be returning on quite a few cards before that (I can remember the June Cordina card Eddie saying he might have been on).

Then had to pull out because of a concussion on the day of the Chelli fight on the Azim-Charlton card.

He should've taken the Akhmedov fight, he was beating Gongora until a last round KO iirc, and I'm sure he's quite highly ranked in quite a few governing bodies. Great exposure on that card too. Problem with Lerrone is he's not the most exciting and he's difficult to look good against. I really rate him though, him against Akhmedov would've been good.

Surely it's about time Frank found Ekow a better fight than making continual defences, especially after he beat Kongo last time out. Ekow-Ava, or try and get him up the rankings or something?

Tbf I would like to see him against McKinson for the British.

I’d really like to see the Avanesyan fight, think it’d be a great matchup stylistically.

What do you reckon of the McGoldrick-Allan fight tonight? Might see if I can catch it, who would you favour? Looking at the records, McGoldrick doesn't really have a win of note, whereas Allan's been in with better opposition, and went reasonably close with Leach and Braithwaite.

I’ve been flip flopping between the two tbh mate, I see it being a close decision fight either way but I’d probably lean towards McGoldrick to edge it on points.

McGoldrick is the better schooled fighter but he got ****** into an attritional battle with Essomba and it cost him. If Allan can drag him into the same sort of fight I can see him outfighting him on the inside. I do expect McGoldrick to be savvy enough to box to a gameplan and win a decision though.

Sam Maxwell added to the Wood-Lara card so Smith-Maxwell must be next in April. That's a decent domestic fight.

Great analysis, will keep that in mind as I genuinely had no idea about either guy. Cheers

Yes, think I saw that card will be April 15th or 29th? Maxwell is a good defence to hopefully win it outright. Think we’ll get Harper-Braekhus and Scotney interim title fight on it as well.

Maxi Hughes against Cabrera IBF eliminator maybe on it? Class card if they get those four to be fair.

Might have to buy DAZN that month to be quite honest.

I think they’re hesitant to go Apr 29th in case Fury-Usyk lands on that date.

Smart move getting Hughes an eliminator. Haney will vacate soon.

                      Yeah very true on Fury-Usyk.
