I can see Buatsi fighting Bivol next and then Matchroom letting him go if he loses. I wouldn't actually mind if we got Bivol-Buatsi, Beterbiev-Smith, Bivol-Canelo II at 168 (if possible) and Buatsi-Yarde this year; I know people want to see undisputed but that seems overly optimistic.Comment

How do matching rights work in this context? Let's say Queensbury wanted to offer Buatsi two fights at £500k a fight, and Matchroom wanted to offer him just the Bivol fight for the same amount, does that mean that if Matchroom match Queensbury's offer for the single fight they want to give him, they'll keep him, or do they need to offer an equal amount across the entirety of the deal?

I also think he probably fights Bivol next, if MR put that fight in the Middle East they’ll have the funds to match any rival offers IMO.Comment

Basically MR have the right to match any offer Buatsi is given. So if Queensberry offered 500k and Matchroom matched the offer with 500k MR would retain the promotional rights of Buatsi. MR had the same matching rights with Okolie I believe. Must be a 258 thing they put in their clients contracts.

I guess my question was is it per fight, or would MR have to match the value of the contract Buatsi was offered - if it's a two-fight deal that Queensbury offer, for a total of £1m, do MR have to offer him a £1m for one fight if they only want one in order to match, or just the value of the first fight on the proposed Queensbury contract.Comment

Joyce-Zhang confirmed for BT Sport rather then Box Office. Two good headliners at no extra cost from BT already this year. Kudos!Last edited by RJJ-94-02=GOAT; 02-02-2023, 12:48 PM.Comment

Hopefully, I reckon McCann probably lands on this card but not 100% sure it’ll be Foster. Noakes would make sense too. Not sure who you match him with, Mould maybe, or First who’s coming off the upset win over Gibbs. Bentley vs Smith is on this card too per the British title circular.Comment
