    **** no. Walters was ruining his career before the Lomachenko fight.

    Remember this is a different era. HBO was calling the shots.

    Walters had a break out win against Donaire and then immediately lost in on the scale in his next fight. So he wasn't a world champion anymore. That severely impacted the amount of money HBO was willing to put up to have him on TV.

    Turning down the Lomachenko fight, and then putting on a non-performance and cashing a check in a fight that HBO was expecting FOTY quality, severly damaged his brand.

    He was high risk, low reward after that. I just don't think anyone was interested in fighting him, HBO wasn't interested in having him back, and in that environment Top Rank shifted their attention elsewhere.

    As you can see, Walters doesn't give a ****. He's had no complaints.
