    Did Loma ruin Walters career?

Walters looked like he had next after stopping Donaire. Then a little layoff and quitting on the stool vs Loma and I havent heard of him since

walters wanted more money for a fight with loma at featherweight. the winner would become the lineal champion. then arum punished him and finally he fought loma for less money than initially was offered to him. walters disappointed in that fight and with bad relations with his promoter his career was derailed.

He ruined his own career. He got dominated, quit on his stool and never could recover from that humiliation. His fans wanna cry that Bob kept him on the shelf, blah blah blah but in reality,he sabotaged his own career turning down a good offer at the time to face Loma when he was "active",the excuses he pulled out his ass after getting his ass handed to him. Active or not,he was never going to to beat Loma, end of...

So Bob Arum never shelved him?

He was never that good. The Donaire win flattered him. The Marriaga and Sosa fights began to expose some of his flaws and then Loma completely outclassed him.

Fun fighter to watch but he was never anything special IMO.

I wouldn’t know but I do know he was shelved for almost a year. Not saying that’s why he lost. To me he really wasn’t in Lomas league but he was shelved. He wouldn’t be the first fighter to be broken by a promoter.

Donaire really had no business at that weight

He was way too small at 126. Walters looked about 3 divisions above him that night.
