Lemieux had an amateur career. He was just very young and knocking out competition at the nationals. Not sure how far he went or if he ever fought in international tournaments. Maybe rushed into the pros too quickly. Turned pro at what 19?

If Benavidez is even slightly better than middleweight Marco Antonio Rubio, who stopped DL in 7 rounds…then yeah, a Super Middleweight version of Rubio would beat him worse. Especially when DL is close to 40 years old as opposed to being in his prime.
