Probably because the negotiation failures where we get no fight but a sht load of excuses would have real answers, they all try to spin a certain narrative to the public in saving face, if the negotiation was public the truth as to why a fight doesnt happen would be seen. Imagine if the Manny May fight was all public from the first day instead of he said she said, it was we all seen what went down.
Business Fans vs. Boxing Fans

People talk about the business because fighters fight so infrequently and fights never get made so they need something to talk about.Comment

I sometimes speak about all the sub-culture that have been appearing in the sport of boxing with fans.Has anyone else been following boxing for a long time?
Before 2005 and the age of the internet, the whole A side B side thing always existed. But it seemed like back then fans understood that the money splits, contracts, was none of their business and not their place to talk about it. You don't know the finances of a boxing match, only the promoters, the fighters and their agents and lawyers do.
So why is it that now you hear so many people taking about business and not boxing? So much talk is based on hearsay and speculation, it's illegal for the promoters to even disclose the negotiations, so all these articles about what fighters are demanding are usually not true anyway.
You have identified a inidvidual sub-culture mate. Some people participate in it, others don't. I saw a member her lately, questioning another poster? Some poster seemed to be gushing over how much a fighter was being paid. I actually agreed with the poster who was calling out the thread starter.
The thread looked like a cosmopolitan magazine topic.
Some people will genuinely enjoy taking part in this sub-culture, it is what really drives their passion. This might be a effect of social media, or their peers.
Me personally I won't take part in the culture.
I won't be coming back in this thread.

Uh, no, read a newspaper or some such. All you did was make up what "back then fans used to". Being fair, you said seemed, so, fair enough, may have seemed to you.
Boxing fans always been petulant.
