    If it does 550K just on DirecTV, then that adds up pretty high with the totals from cable and other satellite companies. It would be nice to see this fight do well, along with the Cotto-Pacquiao bout.

      Cable co.'s are still the largest TV subscription providers. So if it does around 550K on there, Mayweather-Marquez will be going at or over a millie.

      Great night of boxing + Close to a millie buys + Smashing the UFShe= A lot of butthurt UFShe and Pacquiao fans= Me :-)
      If there no link then it's just plain bull****.

        Forecasting is just that FORECASTING! They forecasted 1.5 million for Hatton-May yet it did 915K.

        JMM-May will be LUCKY 2 do 500K.

          It's good for boxing when a lot of people are tuning in and putting down cash to see our sport.
          Co-Sign. Well stated!!!!! The most important thing here is that Boxing is doing well in during this recession.

          Many take this whole PPV draw thing to a whole new level of sillyness {Not referring to the OP here}

          In this recession ...... Any volumn of PPV's is a good sign for boxing. But, in KID-SPEAK, it means this fighter is bigger than that one or he's more popular ... TOTAL BS!!!!

          I can understand why GBP or Mayweather Productions would be concerned because they have a vested interest ...... But the average fan is just silly, and immature, IMHO to even concern themselves with it.

          PPV Count\Draw = talking points for Kids\knuckleheads on forums!!!

          Nothing More!

            so based on that forecast, I'll estimate that the fight on Saturday between JMM/FMJ will get at least 125K - 150K.

                    I wonder how the movie theater viewers are gonna be factored in this time around? That's gonna take a chunk out of PPV buys for sure.

                      I've thought about that too but another thing is some people will go to the fight who never planned on watching it in the first place. They might have no cable or didn't know it was happening till they saw it's playing in the theater, plus they are showing commercials at a bunch of movie theaters so that's a lot of extra marketing. This fight has been marketed with a very big push by HBO and GBP, now were going to find out if that extra push helps.

                      Also those At&T commercials that Marquez has are playing all the time on spanish television, that was a great idea imo.
