Directv is forcasting 550K PPV buys for Marquez Vs Mayweather

I am expecting between 650 and 700k.

Now iam sure this fight will do over 700K ppvs, I got all my points on it.

DirectTV and their forecasters should be reliable. Why? Because they're working on the inside. They know how many pre orders they have and the patterned increase on fight night.

Cable co.'s are still the largest TV subscription providers. So if it does around 550K on there, Mayweather-Marquez will be going at or over a millie.

I'm in the business, so i'm gonna ask you to indulge me.

That DTV number makes no sense to me. The majority of buys come from the RBOC's/cable, not from satellite (cable > dish). If DTV alone has a 550K projection, then that would mean WELL over a mil for total buys. And i just don't see that. Even though Taffet and Davis have talked about a mil.

Are you sure your 550K is not a national total sales proj? What are the pre-buys?
