  • Martin Bakole

I've always felt he's underrated. I picked Hunter to beat him and despite being right on that occasion I've always felt he was perhaps rather fortunate and I definitely feel a rematch goes very differently.

I quite like Bakole he moves well for such a unit, good power, good workrate, chin looks, good. Hands down but slips shots well and seems to have a beard on him.
He doesn't fight like a typical HW.
Despite being 6'6 he's a good bodypuncher, uses angles well, cuts off a ring pretty well, double and triples up his punches. He puts punches together well for a giant HW.
I am not saying he is as good but in a weird way he is a little bit Tyson Fury esque at in there, just glimpses.

I still believe its hard to get a real gauge on how good he is or can be as I believe he's improving and not a spring chicken but surprisingly youngish? 26-27?

I'd like to see him in there with Whyte or say a Parker (fight lined up with Joyce) but someone of similar quality maybe Ruiz?

Do you reckon he could go far?
Not sure I see a future world champion but he looks a decent enough contender.

Him vs Joyce will settle who the best big slow durable plodder is.

I said from the start he was a bad opponent for Yoka. I had a feeling Yoka, who was matched really soft as a pro, would lose.

Not sure I ever see Yoka beating any legitimate, semi-decent HW.

Despite being 6'5 and 240 he isn't a natural true HW imo
I personally feel he is a skinny ass dude that is blown up on steroids and doesn't have a very big frame.

Sort of like Joseph Parkers old stablemate - sizable chap for sure but just doesn't have the bone density and such to be a true, true HW

If you took Yoka off the sauce he'd likely be 190lbs ringing wet and built like a wire coathanger.

I think he's better than Hrgovic

Looks like younger and fresher version of Takam to me. I see nothing special. Him beating Yoka just proves how overrated Yoka was.

                He moves well?

He has decent hand speed but his legs are 100% wooden.

He moves like he’s missing the knee joint and instead has one long femur all the way from his hip to his feet.

Likely to be on a similar level. I think Takam throws better, faster combinations, but Bakole has a bit more thudding power. I think Bakole vs Chisora would be a good fight. Chisora from a few years ago wins, but he was getting rocked by jabs in his last fight, though still game as ever, so would be a fun battle. Nash out.

Anthony Joshua is similar, I mean I doubt AJ could comfortably make cruiser or anything but if he laid off the weights I doubt he'd be much over 220
