Comments Thread For: Jaron Ennis Destroys Custio Clayton in Two Rounds

the trajectory of the punch was downwards because Clayton was ducking below the waistline and turning away from his opponent. Clayton turned his head too far, that’s why it hit him where it did. Just like when a fighter throws a body shot and the opponent blocks it with his arms and pushes it into his own groin. Not the fighter who threw it intentionally there. Down to the opponents actions. I think the term is defend yourself at all times. Mayweather turned his back on Hatton only Hatton got warned for punching behind the head. Refs aren’t always impartial.
It was not an accidental shot.
More and more, rabbit punches and pushing a guy down is being allowed.Comment

They won't get a year. That fight needs to be made soon, because the IBF are itching to order the mandatory. An IBF mandatory is long overdue, about 3 years I think.Comment

Whether that unintentional clip behind the ear did it or not. If you were watching you just knew it was a matter of time.Comment

Lol its not nice is it. When your guy has a good win and there are people out there trying to put him down. I wish people wouldn't do that. Props to Ennis he'll get his shot. His show rolls on.Comment

It was a downward punch.
Had Clayton been standing upright, where was that punch going to land ?Comment

Boots was basically stalking him and just throwing shots. Clayton was the one who made the mistake of bad movement honestly. No other way to describe it.Comment

It's not the right time for that fight yet. It'll be a much better fight when it's the right fight to make for both. Right now it's not the right fight for either. Especially Benn.Comment

He’s very talented
i still don’t like the way he pulls back with his chin very high. Last night it never mattered because his opponent had no ambition but in his previous few fights he was getting cracked flush because of it. Try that at a good level and you’ll end up on your back.
let’s be real, he hasn’t beaten anyone if real
note yet that still has something to offer, so I’ll reserve judgment because I’ve seen a lot of very talented boxers not go where they were expected by many
he definitely has a very good skill set though and a real talentComment
