I wanted to see him in against a defensive first fighter and Ennis was more patient before getting the KO. He didn't get anxious or impatient and took what was there.

I saw a number of slo mos from different angles, its looks to be right above the ear or just behind it the punch is curving over the shoulder, its lands very close to that center line and only one camera angle show the best view, I wouldn't argue either way its close to the center like where does the bat hit a baseball.

It actually wasn't. It was behind the ear some but Clayton was ducking downward at the same time. So it wasnt intentional like you you are inferring.
