It's 100% a foregone confusion and they make these fights because most boxers careers are a scam. None of the top level guys ever fight each other lol.

Most high level boxers take maybe 1 or 2 risks in their ENTIRE CAREER.

This isn't the 50s and even then boxing was corrupt, these days it's almost wwe levels of stage managed and you live for the rare times when a promotor makes a horrible mistake and a cherry turns sour.

Benn has poor boxing skills but I think he may go further than people think just die to physicality and aggression, he has more ambition than 99% of boxers.

Close but not quite foregone I'd say. Custio is a decent contender as he showed against Lipinets in a fight many thought he deserved to win, but eye test - and the summary way in which Boots destroyed Lipinets himself suggest that he's on a different level. However you gotta earn those accolades and Custio is a legit and worthwhile opponent to that end.

There's no incentive for anybody to fight Boots until he gets a belt so fighting an IBF eliminator against Clayton makes all kinds of sense.

Clayton might very well be his best opponent to date. He's not a killer by any means but most everyone thought he beat Lipinets.
He is an Olympian with sound defense and isn't just coming to roll over. I have a feeling it will go the distance or end in a late stoppage. Opening odds had Boots KO prop pretty wide and it stabilized throughout the week showing that people were giving Clayton at least a bit of respect. Realistically, I feel like Ennis will box early, lay on the pressure more mid rounds as Clayton gets more tentative to throw back, and will force a TKO stoppage somewhere in rounds 8-11. Despite the fact that I quite enjoy watching Ennis, if he splatters Clayton with an early KO I will be impressed.
