What does Andrade have to do to get a big fight though?

Spin it however you like but Andrade passed on a Charlo fight. It is what it is…….Comment

Andrade is doing what every other fighter out there does for the most part - take on the easiest possible opposition while trying to maneuver yourself into a big fight.
If he really wanted to face tougher opposition he could have stayed and faced Janibek, or probably even worked out a fight with Derevychenko. He surely could have faced tougher guys at 154 too.
I think his big flaw was that he was never at all too eager to take on a tough fight to try and work his way up the ladder; look at his last 10 fights or so and there are only a couple guys out of that 10 who I rate at all really - Culcay is a really good underrated fighter and then Sulecki is OK (only because he gave Jacobs a good fight, but Danny fights to the level of his opposition).
Andrade is in that dreaded zone of bringing nothing really to the table, while also appearing to be a tough opponent - he has no real fans, brings in no real money, isn't a legacy fight for anyone etc.
Not sure how much money he made but if he really wanted to bet on himself he probably took the wrong route and played it too safe.Comment

To answer your question though - he should fight someone like Derevy or a couple top 10 guys at 160-168 and start to get some buzz. Then he will at least be worth fighting as far as getting credit if you beat him.
As it is now, if he fought Canelo and Canelo rolled him over, everyone would just say Andrade ****** and was never any good. There is no upside at all to that fight for Canelo imo.Last edited by Boxing-1013; 05-13-2022, 11:30 PM.Comment

He needs to sign with a competent promoter/manager. If he goes to the PBC, I guarantee he gets a fight vs Charlo or Benavidez depending on what weight he decides to stick to. He's been with these off brand guys all of his career. Him signing with Eddie seemed promising, but DAZN has a fetish of not letting their top middleweights fight each other.Comment

It's crazy how a champion who's never been in trouble ONCE can be this avoided for so long. The personal lengths he's going is above and beyond the call of duty.Comment

Early in his career for 200k and that's just the facts. I'm an academic and you'll always lose because when I post I'm prepared and 3 steps ahead of people like you, what else you got?
Thank you!

He got 7M for Charlo and 12M-15M for GGG. Doesn't draw purse money though, ok kid!Last edited by War Room; 05-14-2022, 11:48 AM.Comment
