I'm not ready to hang him out to dry just yet. But in the event that he doesn't fight the winner of Pac/Cotto, I'm going to have a hard time finding something positive to say about him.Comment

Most will disagree with you. De La Hoya-Mayweather was the biggest boxing event in terms of money generated. The HW division is pretty much on life support right now.
The Mayweathers are well respected by those in the know in boxing circles.Go back watch every 24/7 Floyd was involved in and their opposition always says Floyd is a very smart fighter. And Mayweather Sr. would not have trained Chad Dawson, Oscar de la Hoya, and Ricky Hatton (more wide open than Randy Moss) if he wasn't respected. And Nacho and Marquez respects them.Comment

I don't think people in boxing circles really respect the mayweathers'. IMOComment

The thug demeanor that the OP is referring to is becoming more and more apparent over the last several years, while it won't tear the sport apart persay, it will drive away casual fans and longtime boxing fansComment

Or, it will continue to do what it's always done. Make people tune into Mayweather's fights, in hopes of seeing him beaten within an inch of his life.Comment
