Potentially, sure. If Bivol can prove he's on that level, which I'm doubting. He beat a really good fighter but he also had a big height/reach advantage that he won't always have.

Certainly getting the showcase Canelo fight fairly early in his career instead of almost at the end is nice.

Bivol usually fights with a big height disadvantage. he is undersized in his weight class.

Just stop with that staff " he beat smaller man". Canelo was seen as some p4p king s.hit megastar boxer who was believed by many casual fans to beat Bivol easily.

People’s pre-fight perceptions, particularly people who only casually follow the sport, is relevant how?

in this particular fight, Bivol used his height/reach advantage expertly.

what is there to disagree? GGG = good boy. no charisma... Bivol, on the other hand, crack jokes, etc.

Bivol should play up his Russian background

we just left the Mayweather era

the lesson was there's stardom in being hated

Yeah that is not happening, cong**** to Bivol though he boxed Beautifully but that style on top of him being Russian (well technically he is Kyrgyz from Kyrgyzstan which is actually Central Asian but a lot of very ignorant people here in America who love "Labels" and love to Label people whoever), will make it Impossible to make him a "Bigger Star Than GGG" in this ERA

Also too as already mentioned by other poster, fighting at 175...that Division just never been popular for whatever reason and I'm talking about going all the way back to when Michael Spinks when he was dominating it and was Undisputed! Nobody Cared, all the attention was on The 4 Kings and Larry Holmes at Heavyweight around that time
