Comments Thread For: Bivol on Canelo: I Think He Wants a Rematch; He's a Guy Who Loves a Challenge

Bivol is becoming what Champs should have always been... No trash, no frills, no $100,000 ****** watches and necklaces... Just a pure Boxing venture in greatness... That's very refreshing to see guys like Bivol and Beterbiev at the top of the charts....Last edited by Superbee; 05-11-2022, 10:51 AM.Knuckle sandwich likes this.

Yo, you got it point. It won't be THAT easy to lose the weight for Bivol. But he is definitely on the smaller end of the LHW spectrum in this era. Especially when you got SMW's bigger than him on fight night.
bivol will need to be as dominant again in the rematch, the fight is a bigger one with all the belts on the line, bivol should demand a % and make a killing in this fight, that cash goes a loooonnggg way in any place ending in stanLast edited by Smash; 05-11-2022, 10:44 AM.P to the J likes this.

Bivol, a career lightweight, has long expressed that he would be able to go down to 168

the fight had 1 round in the scores, presume nelo will be a bit better and bivol a bit worse (maybe) soooooo its a very good challenge either way for him if thats what he does, maybe the cash would be worth it to him even if he does drop a decision this time or maybe he can recreate his form 100% at 168 and do the same again, seems a tough ask to me, isnt moving down for a career guy like him harder than going up a bit, i presume it is

he can show his skills, compsure etc comfortably at that weight
canelo was just fighting at 160 not that long ago
So going up in weight that much probably slowed him down and wore on his stamina
his issues with stamina had kinda gone away
but that’s really why weight classes exist not cause of size but how good u can really be at a particular weight
For one, these stamina issues weren't apparent against Kovalev. By way of contrast, if anybody comes in fighting Bivol's exact fight at 168 or 160 vs Canelo, he'll probably gas almost as quick fighting that same fight. He needs to condition, and change his approach (stop KO hunting).

In terms of mass, there's not much in it, comparing him with Bivol.

That much weight is a bit too much for Canelo and it showed in the right. Weight aside, Bivol has much more skill, experience and talent than the 168 lb. champions that Canelo fought. Apart from his quickness and skill level, Bivol stamina far exceeds those guys as well. A fight with Canelo at 168 would be a better fight.
Bivol can take heavier shots, for sure.Megaman99 likes this.

One big difference between Bivol and Fielding is that Bivol knows what a sit-up is.

4 fight deal Take the rematch make a star and tons of $ especially with inflation, catchweight 171 all the belts 50/50, 55/45 split. Ppv Get the win, fight callum smith in uk build upon audience regular tv, stay busy kovalov in moscow for home plus name on resume then beterbiev ppv for all the belts if win could do a rematch if close ect. 3/4th ppv david benevidez in vegas. Beterbiev could take out ramiraz in mexico or texas if beat smith then its bivol fight. It would help with ppv for unification bringing uk and hispanic eyes.P to the J
