Canelo does have a rematch clause.

In response to the other thread some posters thought canelo didnt have a clause. Article posted states he clearly does. Or am I missing something?

I never understood rematch clauses. The other fighter doesn't have to accept the rematch, right? If so, then what good does a rematch clause do?

It says the Russian boxer agreed to consider a rematch. It's about Bivol, not Canelo. How can Canelo put a rematch in when he had nothing to lose?

It's a no win for canelo, even if he miraculously pulls off the upset, there would only be 1 acceptable fight for him after. We all know who it is and we all know what he would do to Canelo. I don't like Alvarez, but I also don't want to see him get hurt either.

Yeah, Bivol's comments about getting paid fairly for the rematch was the tipoff. Of course Canelo can get the rematch if he really wants one but Bivol is going to get paid.

Bivol should go for it, Canelo shouldn`t.

Here is why. It is a great payday for Bivol, he can negotiate for much more money. even if he fights Canelo at 168 and somehow loses, his WBA title at 175 will still be there. At 175 he beats Canelo again.

For Canelo..if he fights Bivol at 168, that brings nothing new to his legacy. he just risks to lose all his belts. At 175 he can`t beat Bivol.

I think ginger will chose the pride over value and lose to Bivol again at 175.

I'd love to see Bivol paid well. I think he ends what's left of Canelo's career, even at 168. Canelo needs to reevaluate his direction.

I find it comical how you try to act Iike canelo took a horrible fury/Wilder type beating lol. It was a decision points loss no one got "destroyed" like ya Wanna make it out to be so calm down with the BS.

My understanding is a rematch has to happen since it was In the clause with both side agreeing to terms which I also believe bivol would be well paid well.

Fight was not competitive. I gave Canelo 1 or 2 rounds max, and I'm being generous there.
