His defense is not super elite, but it is good 'Especially on the the inside'.

But I would not class Alvarez as a all-time great defensive fighter.

Note: No gears I.E Alvarez is a one paced fighter. Seems to struggle to throw caution to the wind. If Alvarez has this ability, he would of cause both Mayweather & Bivol more issues etc.

Miguel Cotto always appeared to be a one paced fighter, difference was? Cotto's endurance was world class, borderline super elite. Cotto could be unrelenting, shown in fights such as with Zab Judah.

Canelo’s combination punching has been coming less frequent. Now he’s more of a single shot merchant, which is ****** because he’s only a sharp puncher, not necessarily a big damaging puncher with single shots.

Cardio, Muscle bound, can't punch in combinations (on the move), slow footwork.

The best I have seen is combination punching was against Angulo. Or at-least it was good.

Infact I would not say that it is elite, it is higher end world class.

Elite combination punchers where Roy Jones Junior, Sugar Ray Leonard, maybe even Joe Calzaghe.

Fighters who can reel off many punches, without resetting. Instantaneously creative.

Alvarez's single punch ability is elite.

            Alvarez is elite.

World Class, Upper World Class, Elite, Super Elite.

            Those are my levels.

Super Elite single punch ability there are not many fighters active today at this level. Not even Mayweather was super elite, due to lacking that game changing power.

But Mayweather was pretty much elite, in every single area of the game.

Super Elite Movement, Elite endurance, Elite single punch ability, Super elite defense, Elite durability, Upper World class to Elite Combination punch ability, Super Elite tactical mind abilities etc.

We've always known his weaknesses -
              • Too reliant on power punches
              • Doesn't use the jab enough
              • Footwork isn't that of an elite boxer
              • Easily mind ****ed when you play mind games with him
              • Ginger
That might be his first official L since Mayweather, but it doesn't change the fact that he got gifted 3 times after that Mayweather fight. Lara beat him fairly comfortably, GGG beat him very comfortably first fight and did more than enough to edge the second fight. Then you have a fourth possible loss with the Trout fight where maybe the knockdowns was enough, but he looked far from being impressive in that fight.

What boxers do you consider ‘super elite’?

Stamina, footwork and jab aren't enough at 175.
Are they 'weaknesses' that magically become apparent at 175, though? Or are they just weaknesses that become apparent fighting a seriously world class boxer who has seen it all before?

If Canelo fought any other LHW, he'd have had nowhere near as much trouble.

His weaknesses are always the same. You guys said it all.

It is just about the level he fights. i hope some of you know understand why was he so dominant at 168. It is about the level of competition.
