Truer words have never been spoken.
Meanwhile, no American athlete (boxer or any sport) has ever been banned or boycotted because of all the invasions we’ve orchestrated on other nations. We invaded Iraq, we still went to the Olympics and the World Cup. In fact, Ukraine was one of the coalition nations that had troops on the ground happily invading brown people.
The hypocrisy of Americans is just out and out stunning.Comment

Is that how it works lol? Huge credit to Canelo but no one forced him to fight at light heavyweight. Canelo has fought multiple guys as big or bigger than Bivol and I didn't hear anyone whining about it before. Canelo weighed just as much as Bivol at the weigh in. Bivol is 6'. Chavez Jr is 6'1", Rocky Fielding is 6'1", Danny Jacobs is 6', Kovalev is 6', Callum Smith is 6'3", Avni Yildirim is 6' and Caleb Plant is 6'1". All of a sudden now it's an excuse?
Bivol has been calling for the fight at 168 for years, a weight he said he could easily make. I'd actually like to see the rematch happen at that weight and he can take all of Canelo's belts. What will the excuse be then?
Canelo is a Flawed fighter
He can't change Tactics
He's Predictable
His legs are too big and heavy he can't move them
That's why Bivol wonComment

A few years ago the media had no problems calling Ukraine one the most corrupt **** holes on the planet. Now all of a sudden they're magically this pillar of democracy where bluebirds tie your shoelaces and everyone has jumped on the latest virtue signaling bandwagon driving down the highway lined with #wesupportukraine billboards and Ukraine flags flying out car windows like they're everyone's favorite NFL team. In the mean time most of them couldn't find Ukraine on a fcuking map let along having anything approaching an educated discussion on what's actually going on over there or why. I could see if Bivol came out in support of the war but otherwise the Klitchko's should piss off and leave this kid alone. I give him immense credit for continuing to be so humble and respectful and not giving anyone the satisfaction of letting any of this bother him or get him down. They've treated him like complete s#it through this whole process and it's one of the reasons I'm so glad he won.Last edited by TDLand; 05-10-2022, 09:24 AM.Comment

Given some of gifted scorecards Canelo has received in the past, he should have been surprised when he was announced the winner.Comment

How on Earth would you know if I can or can't? Honestly that's not the point anyway because I'm not pretending to "know better" and trying to cancel people like they've tried to do with Bivol simply because of where he's from. I'm not driving around with Ukraine flags out my car windows because it's the latest jump on the bandwagon social justice cause. I'm actually not a pretender because unlike those people, and most likely yourself, no matter how much I read I don't pretend to know everything about what's going on over there or why. Unfortunately I'm not as smart as all the SJWs out there crying "Ukraine good, Russia bad." Do you honestly think it was fair how disrespectfully they treated Bivol all week?Comment

Bivol is not to blame for the invasion of Ukraine any more than any of us for 20 years of occupying Iraq and Afghanistan.
The nasty uses of the bout for propaganda — eg, go see the Guardian’s postfight write-up, which imagines ***** cackling with glee — are appalling to true fans. We need to keep this political **** out of our sport. Out of all sport.Comment
