Roach is smart since Cotto will beat Pac they know Floyd will never fight him so that is the only way he can get $$$$ from piece of **** Mayweather.

I analyze the current landscape and the opportunities that are out there.
The reality is that none of the top p4p guys are facing the elites of their divisions. I posted on this last week.
Hopkins has fought Winky and Pavlik at 170. Those guys are MW's, not LHWs.
Pac has fought a peripheral Diaz (not "the" Diaz), and then fought a dead Hoya and Hatton.
Shane was offered several top ten WW's, but he only wanted "the big-money fights". He wanted either Mayweather, or the Pac/hatton winner. Really, Shane? you would have fought Hatton if he beat Pac?
I'm a pragmatist. I know that by the time these guys reach the apex of the sport, they are ALL cherrypicking opponents. Everyone except Cotto. So, i guess I'm much less inclined to vilify FMJ for his choice of opponent in the comeback. For a couple of reasons
1) I would have expected Floyd to take some second-tier WW in his return. So, instead of seeing him tune-up against Steve Forbes, Pito cardona or David Diaz, i actually get "an event" when he fights a top - albeit smaller - fighter. Heck, Shane and Ricky were active fighters and they wanted tune-ups before facing FMJ (feel free to challenge that statement for a points donation).
"Numero Uno" is actually intriguing to me. It is "seven pounds" vs "two years". that's how i choose to see it. And since it is "an event"; it merited a 24/7 and all the bells and whistles we would not get otherwise.
I DO (repeat: DO) need to see Floyd against continued top opposition going forward.
2) A couple of guys referred to boxing history (SRL-MMH). Well, that's cool. I remember that. I'm a bit older than most of you cats, i think. But I gotta tell you: i do not remember very many guys cleaning out their fifth weight class. I'm not the most knowledgeable fan, so please educate me if i'm missing all the guys that did. IMO, when you've largely beaten the best in your 1st, 2nd, 3rd weight division...then that is your legacy. They already 'paid the cost to be the boss'.
Jones didn't go up and fight the best heavyweight. Didn't expect him to. SRL fought Donny LaLonde at LHW. Not the "real" guys. I don't expect Pac to clear out either 140 or 147. I know he will pick and choose his opponents for the 2 x/year that Pac fights.
Similarly, I apply that same criteria to PBF. I just want to see the best fights. And that may not be at WW.
I'm a reasonable guy.Comment

He retired because he had enough of the sport , he had offered Mosley a fight and Shane went away so dont talk bull**** , Floyd is not really a fully fledged WW when are you boys going to understand that , he will fight the winner of Pac vs Cotto because it be the biggest fight to take , they took JMM because its a great tester to see how much Floyd has left and its a great lever in fighting Pac , why cant you boys see past your negative hate for a change and look at the big picture .Comment

Floyd didn't even clean out 140, much less 154 or even take on the best of 147.
Thats why your entire gimmick is a joke.
the difference between me and you, is that I won't hype up a fighter just for winning a championship at any class.
lots of guys win titles,
but can they defend like a champion does?
Being a champion in boxing is much more than just winning the title.
A champion defends it against the best challengers.Comment
