Lol!! Damn King is upset. Relax, it is true Mayfeathers career was carefully choreographed during his time with Top Rank, then it when full motion picture when he went out on his own, but he did fight a true prime champ. At 31 I wouldn't consider Bivol prime, Schmanelo either (that was around the time he fought Cotto)..Canelo has never fought a champion in their prime..Youngest was Liam Smith and Fielding...26 and 29 two schlubs..feathers? Castillo at 28..Hatton at 28..Chico Corrales at 22..and paid Genaro Hernandez's funeral RIP to him and Chico
    So what were you saying?

Didn't mind Canelo testing himself vs Bivol. But I don't see the need for the rematch lol.

Plenty of other fights out there for Canelo, and not even talking about GGG. Benavidez, Charlo, Andrade are all big fights. And at this time those 3 and GGG 3 make more sense than a Bivol rematch.

Bivol showed that Canelo isn't a 175 pound fighter. Good try but let's go after some of the other guys around your weight and go from there.

I'm a Canelo fan but damn, last night was an ass whooping.

Props to Canelo for stepping up to the plate and challenging himself at 175... but he needs to stay in his lane, he didn't look like the Canelo that fought Plant and BJS... it looked like a fatigued, dehydrated Nelo... wtf is going on ?!??

I think Canelo is just doing a little saving face talk here...I doubt he wants any part of Bivol any time soon or ever for that matter. He's in damage control mode. I'd rather see him fight Benevidez who will take his stock down further, and let Bivol fight Beterbiev which is a far more intriguing match-up.

my point is trying to “age him out” won’t work very well in this case so it’s a pointless thing to mention

He will continue to struggle against the very best at light heavyweight - I'm talking about those with size, skill, and power....and not someone on the decline like a Kovalev. He can try to throw more, but can he physically do so? It was easier to be more active against GGG because they are basically the same size. Canelo punched himself out against Bivol. He threw mostly power shots/hay makers. Those types of punches will tire any fighter out - especially when they are facing a bigger man. He did his best to land uppercuts, target the body, and arms of Bivol. And nothing worked. It's like Mayweather Jr fighting an in his prime Holyfield. The mismatch would physically wear down the smaller guy - as long as the bigger guy isn't getting hurt. Did anyone notice how quickly Canelo's face got blistered against Bivol? I mean his face never busted up, but it looked immediately swollen and red.
throw more but be selective... in the bivol fight, canelo gassed out because he was only loading up on power shots... if the rematch happens, he needs to be more active but selective with what he throws... i know it's easier said than done.
