Salute to Canelo for having taken the risk

All his haters are out in force today expressing their joy at his loss.

But in my opinion it's more important to acknowledge that he fell down while trying to be great. There's absolutely nothing to be ashamed of in that. I wish more fighters had the balls to challenge themselves in a similar manner, the sport would be all the better for it.

Jermall Charlo could be giving the fans a David Benavidez fight for Juneteenth. Instead he's giving us Maciej Sulecki. Sure, he likely won't lose but so what? That is some lukewarm stuff at best.

Chasing legacy will always be more compelling than compiling cheap victories.

Risk? Lmao. He only picked Bivol because Biv looked like shyte vs Craig Richards. Even Craig Richards did better than Canelo vs Bivol. Embarrassing shyte.

Craig Richards is a 175 lber.

Canelo really has no business fighting at that weight, as shown by how difficult both the Kovalev and Bivol fights got for him.

I agree. He’s a risk taker. Even taking the Floyd fight when he did was an insane risk. I said then on this site that he will be great…but would lose again by the time he was 30(pandemic,lawsuit,PED scandal delayed time). Not because he wasn’t great…but because he will bite off more than he can chew. That’s his nature.

BS. He only took this fight because he gauged it as less risky than other fights the public has been begging him to take. He wasn’t daring to be great, he was cherry-picking to keep the great facade going

there is nothing wrong with losing. It's how you come back after a loss that defines you.

Agree to an extent. There was some cherry picking going on through out his run,not to mention aging GGG out a little....but yea, what Canelo has/attempted to do really has been beneficial to our sport and should be commended more than ridiculed. There's weight classes for a reason and it eventually caught up to him.

Floyd was 36. Canelo took that fight thinking it was gonna be a passing of the torch moment. Besides he knew so many if the boxing community wouldn't hold it against him even if he did lose. He had nothing to lose. It wasn't a risk.

It's insulting to call Dmitry Bivol a cherrypick. Especially after what he showed last night.

The fact of the matter is Canelo was willing to move up in weight to challenge Bivol. Charlo is too terrified to move up in weight to fight Benavidez.

One guy deserves major respect here while the other one doesn't. I'll let you guess which is which.
