No hate on Canelo but this loss was overdue and while he has improved over the years it's nothing like people were claiming that's hes some totally different fighter since he lost to Floyd

****** ****ing thread. Fighters lose and they're bums/hypejobs etc. Smdh.

He fought an an elite well schooled fighter who is naturally at least two divisions bigger than him.

An elite fighter who is taller, longer and naturally heavier than him.

Not since Pacquiao has a fighter (alvarez) consistently beaten world class bigger guys.

Nah **** Canelo. I don't respect him. I overestimated his abilities. Bivol is pretty basic, but he schooled Canelo. It's clear Canelo will lose or need a gift decision whenever he faces a truly elite fighter.

Did I say Canelo was a bum? I just the narrative that his fanboys have been pushing for a decade. The idea that's he's a massively improved fighter compared to a year ago was always laughable. Bivol the best? I picked Canelo. Most people picked Canelo to win. The fact is beating and dominating all those stiff eurobums caused people to misgauge Canelo's talent level. If he's struggling with a basic fighter like Bivol then he's clearly not the guy he was hyped up as being. We all had to hear about "Canelo's prime", about how he beats FMJ, Usky, Wilder, etc... Turns out Canelo can only beat good fighters, but not great fighters.

These threads after a fighter loses to another top fighter get exhausting. SRL is not less great because he lost to Duran , Duran is not less great because he go sparked out by Hearns, Ali is not any less great because he lost to Frazier , Trinidad is not any less great because he lost to Hopkins .When you step up and fight another fighter on your level you don't become a bum because you took an L, this is understood in MMA .Boxing fans are lame AF , this thread is embarrassing.

Wins and losses do matter. And it's the nature of the losses. You're talking about ATGs losing to other ATGs. Is Bivol an ATG? Look, when you're the face of boxing, when you're a supposed top ten ATG in his prime, these types of loses do hurt your legacy.

Alvarez improvements remind me of manny's improvements

they got better as they moved up in weight

but didn't massively improve against the styles they struggle with

Marquez gave manny a boxing lesson in fight 3

both guys became better at what they're already good at
