If they feel there is enough reason to sue for defamation then i say go ahead with it, But i cant see enough in what Mayweather snr said to warrant going to court and wasting your money suing.

Freedom of speech protects you from government persecution, not private. Slander is very much well against the law and a legit reason to sue.

With that said, this is a complete waste of time to actually pursue, however, I like that Pac is saying this to at least scare the old fool.

If it's in a U.S. court Pacquiao has to prove that irreparable damage was done to his character, or that the allegations in some way hurt his career. Public figures aren't protected to the extent that private citizens are (Pacquiao is a public figure.) They also have to prove that Mayweather acted with actual malice (he knew the statements were false and said them anyway with the intent of causing damage) or with reckless disregard for the truth, though that applies more to journalists and reporters and such.

I doubt it holds up in court. Mayweather isn't an authority on the subject anyway. If a reporter said it there might be something to it, but not a boxing trainer. The U.S. is one of the hardest countries to win a defamation/slander suit in because of that little thing known as the First *********.

                  That's not the point.

Because of what floyd sr. said, some people are starting to believe that pacquiao is using steroids. some posters here like Burner are riding with what Floyd Sr. said. casual fans would probably believe sr. cause he is a name in the sport.

                  it made pacquiao look bad

floyd sr. deserves to get his come up ins for saying ****** **** without any evidence....
