Neutral agencies have said about 70k afghan civilians died in that war (look it up if u dont believe me)

The afghan war basically became soldiers trying to reclaim crap hole afghan villages all over the country while being attacked by locals who had no clue who they were apart from they were invading their country which if u look at the history of afghanistan they hate, one of the aims was to end the opium production, it shot up multiple times during the war as US troops were afraid to piss off local farmers.

When the taliban would retake a village troops would come back and try to take it again, over and over again until they realised this is pure dumb what are we doing here. All of this fuelled by the drug trade which meant the taliban could pay their guys more than the US paid the afghan soldiers. Plus surrounding countries were hostile too, it was a disaster with no end.
