The offer wasn't made by the Spence camp, it was Hearn offering Canelo purses for 3 fights, Spence was one of those, team Spence haven't made an official offer to Canelo, Spence just said off the cuff publicly he would go to 160 for a Canelo fight.

Crawford Spence is in the works, not Canelo Spence, Canelo will not go to 160 again.

Canelo needs to try and beat Golovkin for the first time above anything else. Now that Golovkin is in his 40s, he has a chance. Golovkin won the first by a near shut-out, and the second 115-113, but mark the words of the Great Nash, the 3rd fight is a 50-50. Nash out. AKA, Dr. Boxing.

Not according to yesterdays report. Spence was included in the offer made from the PBC.

TGB Promotions came out and said that the package they offered Canelo was for him to fight Charlo/Benavidez and the Spence at a catchweight. The report is here on boxingscene I believe.

Yeah I seen that I just thought it was from Hearn for some reason, must have been a senior moment lol.

Is it just me or was there never any intention of making that Crawford fight next? Do you remember what Tim Smith said not that long ago at all which was something along the lines of seeing no sense in making a Spence v Crawford fight.

"yes but yes but yes but Spence called Crawford out after the Ugas fight". What else was he meant to say when all the media had the mic's in his face and were only ever going to be satisfied hearing Terrence Crawfords name being called. He had to call him out, it don't mean he has any intention in following through with it.
I get being upset that the fight isn’t signed yet but being mad they extended an offer to Canelo before Crawford????

I mean you do understand boxers move differently when they’re the B side and the a side?

You’re on this site everyday and yet you ask the ******est questions. Canelo’s been scheduled to fight Bivol for months now so it’s obvious that the offer was made prior to Buds free agent status. Also Canelo offers a better return on their investment so why wouldn’t Haymon try to secure a Canelo fight? Including offering up Spence if that’s what it took. Since that fight is no longer an option it’s time to pursue the next biggest fight which should be Crawford. The fact that there’s been no reporting on this situation gives me a good feeling about the situation. I think they’re negotiating right now as we speak.

If Canelo had accepted the Spence fight, I would lose my respect on him.

But Canelo said he wants to try to win belts at 175. Bivol is an unbeatan champion at that weight. Where as neither Charlo or Benavidez are. So for Canelo the choice was obvious. I cant say I care too much for the Golovkin fight but its a side show fight based on 2 previous close classics between them.
I am definitely dreading the GGG fight. It’s one of those boxing fights that are better labeling it as an “event”. It’s a fight that you can probably enjoy only for its possible one-sided entertainment value. Like “this one guy is going to win, but how badly will he beat up his opponent?”

                      Pacquiao-Margarito
                      Mayweather-Marquez
                      Fury-Wilder III

Come to mind as similar “events”.

Basically I will be tuning in to see just how convincingly Canelo will beat GGG. Not who will win or if GGG has a chance at an upset. The most I am looking for in GGG is how competitive will he be in his L. His fights vs Derevyanchenko and Murata showed that he can still be competitive but not at the elite level.
