I personally think Boxing is trending. I also think at the moment boxing is more popular than MMA at least in America it is. These are above average numbers. 23 year old Shakur just earned a 1M pay day on cable tv that’s more than the UFC heavyweight champion earned in his last fight.

You’re comparing Apples to oranges. ESPN is a basic cable channel, meaning most Americans have it. HBO is/was a premium channel that obviously not everyone elects to pay for. I believe HBO has around 35-40 million subscribers and ESPN has 85-90 million, so for every 500k that tunes into HBO that’s equivalent to 1mil in ESPN.
