Bob, the kid is young, so let him fulfill his dreams. Bob, I feel you are the worst promoter for fighters of a certain hue. It is like they’re only good when they’re obscure and once they established themselves it seems you are reluctant in promoting them. Bob, why??

Agree with Bob, although being known as undisputed champion is wonderful, but those other two title holders wouldn't beat Valdez, let alone Stevenson.
Shakur should move up and try to get a bigger fight. He's not as small as I thought, is filling up his body.

I don't think there is a boxing promoters in the history of boxing who is actually impressive.
We're such sad sacks we praise rich dudes for being rich enough to afford contracts for those who are obviously going to do well in the sport.
One of the "best" promoters ever was smart enough to realize Jack Johnson's a goldmine
I mean, it's sad, everyone catches blame for how **** boxing is and how little of the mainstream it attracts. We say **** like fighters need to fight one another then the world will give a ****. Promotional blame seems limited to the stables and lack of co-promotion. Maybe promoters, all of them, suck at their job and can't actually sell **** to anyone who wasn't already interested, or, worse, became interested because the fighter took matters into their own hands and hit social media to promote their ****.
I don't know how you're supposed to know when a fight is happening without actually looking it up yourself and constantly checking websites like this one. If I was a casual I wouldn't even know who Stevenson is....which is why they do not know who Stevenson is.
What the **** does Bob Arum actually sell?
Seems like undisputed would be a sellable asset, you know, if he sold anything at all.
Today, at some point, I'll skip some Nord/Express/Shark VPN sponsors in videos on Youtube that have **** all nothing to do with VPNs. I'll skip some SquareSpace and some SkillShare on videos that have nothing to do with learning any skill or starting any website. Going to skip over Ridge Wallet, Apple, Disney, Geico, and Carvana. None of which will be relative to the video I'm watching. What I damn sure will not be skipping is any promotional material from any boxing promoter on any channel regardless of content because they're never there to be skipped.
Y'all see commercials all the time for anything boxing? Me either.
Y'all get pop ups for boxing **** that isn't gear? Yes, title boxing, which isn't even a top end brand, promotes much better than ****ing TR, MR, and GBP all combined.
When do you goes about your day away from boxing and boxing comes and finds you?
Exactly, so what exactly is a boxing promoter good for? Signing a deal with ESPN? Didn't Floyd prove you can do that alone?

You can't expect arum to take a finanical loss, so unless shakur is willing to take very little for the sake on achieving his goal of unification, it just isn't realistic.jockpunk likes this.

I understand Bob, some fighters can pull viewers regardless of who they fight and at this point Shakur is not one of them. Loma earned some fans and maxed out at lightweight so it's understandable his next move was to collect all the belts in that division.
Shakur could probably go up several weigh classes and fight some known names (or in house fighters) and make Bob some money.
FYI Casual fans do not like purists they prefer the big ko.

Bob delayed the Valdez fight. Now he’s trying to prevent the man from unifying the division, something that he helps some of his other boxers achieve.
I can see it now from the usual suspects- Shakur ducked Ogawa and Gutierrez and ran up to 135.
I can't tell if Gutierrez is signed or not.
