Is Eddy Reynoso A Great Trainer ?

Or is he just a product of Canelo Alverez? Same with Bomac and Terence Crawford.

Crap level. That shows how amazing Canelo is.

Andy Ruiz and Valdez were probably better suited with Manny Robles.

I’m not sure it’s fair to gauge Reynoso based on Valdez fight. Oscar hasn’t really been himself since the PED accusation. If you compare the ultra nimble pinpoint boxer to thr current version, it’s hard not to see the difference. I was very surprised that Oscar got the decision vs. Conceicao (spelling). Thought he lost and they gave him too much credit for late rounds.

maybe he was on PEDs and he’s not as good without them. In my opinion, watching him act since the PED thing, he’s destroyed mentally.

Reynoso has done a spectacular job with Canelo. We don’t have enough information to say that he’s just a product of Canelos success.

Yeah without question, he took a 15 year old kid and along with his father Chepo nurtured him unto becoming the best fighter in the world and a legitimate ATG. 99.9% of trainers will never achieve that.

Agreed, Reynoso has trained Canelo since he was a kid. He definitely has knowledge, but it is hard to gage his effectiveness off of Oscar performance because we don't know what Eddie trained him to do for this fight and with that we don't know how much Oscar followed the plan.

On a converse note, we have seen Oscar's training videos and he looks amazing practicing counter punching and heavy body punching, but for some reason he never looks as good in the ring as he does in training.. Where as Cenelo looks average AF in training and then is a savage in the ring.

I think a lot of Oscar's issues are just performing under pressure and not being able to improvise. He also lacks a lot of the natural abilities of Canelo defense and offensively.

Came on to the thread to state essentially the same thing. I thought he lost to Conceicao as well and the Berchelt win may not be quite what it was based on how shot Miguel looked in both that fight and his subsequent fight.

Some fighters seem to do well with Reynoso (Sanchez, KingRy and JC Martinez) and others haven't shown much improvement (Nery and Ruiz). Same as any other decent trainer really.

Valdez looked the best he ever had against Berchelt. Under Reynoso.

He was face first and got his jaw broken under Robles.

For all the hate Roach got, same should apply to Eddie.
