That's the thing isn't it? Taylor showed remarkable heart and fortitude to soak up all that punishment and then boss the end of the fight. All the posters focussing on how hurt she was in certain rounds are for some reason ignoring that each and every round counts for the same weight in a decision, unless a judge hands out a 10-8.
Serrano failed to press her advantage and there is a reason for this: she expended a lot of energy in dominating those middle rounds. Close fight. So close, it really could have gone been a draw and there would have been no arguing.
I think both women showed a lot of heart and class and I think a rematch would be welcome.
It starts to become hypothetical, but if they were the same size, it would have been a different result. The reality is the judges concluded the bigger woman just about edged it by the end of the fight and I can't say that was the wrong result. But it was close.
