All the posters focussing on how hurt she was in certain rounds are for some reason ignoring that each and every round counts for the same weight in a decision, unless a judge hands out a 10-8.
Serrano failed to press her advantage and there is a reason for this: she expended a lot of energy in dominating those middle rounds. Close fight. So close, it really could have gone been a draw and there would have been no arguing.
I think both women showed a lot of heart and class and I think a rematch would be welcome.
It starts to become hypothetical, but if they were the same size, it would have been a different result. The reality is the judges concluded the bigger woman just about edged it by the end of the fight and I can't say that was the wrong result. But it was close.
