Berto picked Margacheato based on fighting clean. EVERY FIGHTER KNOWS..... PERIOD! Cotto fought cheato w/ 8oz gloves and was landing brutal shots and looked fast! (8oz glvs on 9/14/09) COTTO doesnt expect a brutal fight w/ PAC like cheato, clottey. If Marquez landed against MP- Cotto will land much easier than what people are expecting and will expose MP. COTTO last experience in VEGAS was shameful for boxing and never asked the organization about his loss and took it like a man. To say (QUIT) knowing the facts is NOW probably the best idea for COTTO. Before CHEATO got caught - COTTO always sd Margarito was the better man. This will be a treat for COTTO for the HARD WORK for FIGHTING the best WW's - Loaded Gloves, CLOTTEY, JUDAH, MOSLEY and other boxing technicians! MP is a hell of a fighter at a lower weight and his wins against HATTON, DLH has no credit against COTTO. Judah (FOCUSED), T. BRADLEY,MAGIC MAN, can beat MP.
This fight could easily replicate (LOPEZ vs PENALOSA) and that's scary to know COTTO will be throwing brutal body shots when trapping MP!

His footwork takes him in and out of range faster than any other boxer alive. It's because of his footwork that he is able to land punches and be out of range again before his opponent can counter. In the De La Hoya fight, he was sometimes able to land punches and then circle round behind De La Hoya, so that De La Hoya was throwing counter-punches at thin air against a fighter who was actually standing behind him! You're focussing on only one aspect, his balance, which in any case has improved dramatically in recent fights, but you're refusing to see the whole picture. He has superb footwork in the sense that he moves in and out of range so fast.

Bert apparently doesn't pay attention to fight night weigh ins. Manny was weighing in at 140 or so when he was fighting at 130... HE was the bigger man in most of his fights. He was also the shorter, but BIGGER man in the DLH fight and was only like 2 pounds lighter than Hatton. Let's be real here... Everyone is making it out to seem that Cotto is some mammoth at WW... He just fought two guys in Margarito whose almost 6 feet tall and Clottey who comes in at 165-170 pounds on fight night. Cotto's been the smaller man in his recent fights as well.

I got no problem with him thinking Manny will win, but to say because Manny has beaten up on bigger guys. Cotto's completely dismantled smaller AND faster guys than him... damn Bert, and I thought you were one of the few who still had common sense in boxing.
