Cotto is not a one punch, knock you out type fighter, his punches do damage as rounds go by specially on the body, but guys, you better believe that he does hit hard! To me, Pacquiao is more of a street fighter, not much of a technical boxer, if Cotto concentrates early on the body this fight is over for Pac, Cotto has to forget about making the mistake of street brawling with Pac!!!

Just goes to show you Even the "so called experts" are full of **** and dont know what they are talking about..........Mayweather vs cotto in May or JuneComment

i agree..cotto's power at welter is a little overated..he hasnt been able to hurt any top welterweight fighters..but he is a busy heavy handed fighter, especially to the body..he usually beats fighters by breakin them down in the second half of the fight..he has a very good chance against pac..like others on this board i dont imagine that pac can get out of this fight without eating some big shots from cotto(head and body)..i dont see this fight going 12rds..someone is going out on their shield..cotto will handle pac's punches better than pac will handle cotto's punches..so the key is going to be for manny to do his best to avoid lingering on the inside at all costs..cotto is gonna have his hands full with pacs speed, consistant and elusive head movement/footwork..but he will no doubt land some good punches especially to the body..theres gonna be some good bleeding in this fight..expect cuts on both fighters..Me personally... I think people overrate Cotto's power on this board... Seriously they really do, people talk about his power like he's the Puerto Rican Mike Tyson or something lol, most of his stoppage have happen in the second half of fights from accumilation of his punches and damage done... But of course I wouldnt be surprised if he ko's pacComment

Wow, all the "experts" who overlook Cotto are in for a serious reality check.
Those of us who have our feet firmly planted on the ground will be saying "I told ya so"
at the end of the night on 11/14. What strikes me most is that the focus is on Pac, when Cotto beats Pacquiao the experts will cover their asses by saying that Pac wasn't at his best or some garbage like that. I now know for sure that this is a fight in which Cotto won't get credit for winning, but rather Manny will get credit for losing.Comment

what the **** are you talking about. so basically you are saying you want to limit boxing styles. Are you ****in crazy? Tryin to fight a guy who won't fight, when you sacrificed your life and freedom in training is beyond frustrating. That's why boxers/runners are so effective. It comes down to the fact that they don't want to fight. It plays directly into the point system from the amat's. The guy's not even hurting you, but you want to hurt him. Boxing is flawed in that sense.
That's why I'm personally surprised that there are no remedy's to runners. I personally think when you fight runners, you gotta touch them and run before they touch you and run. Don't touch them like they want to touch you, don't try to match speed. Just get to them anyway you can and run. Force them to come inside. Don't chase. DON'T EVER CHASE.
That **** kills boxing, but at the same time that is boxing in some sense. But a large part of boxing is strategy, which means even runners need a strategy against them. Otherwise boxing won't ever change.
go watch MMA, you are a disgraceComment

i want everyone to remember that the big difference maker in this fights gonna be cotto's thundering sligshot jab along with his great timing which to me will neutralize pacmans speed early in the fight allowing cotto to go to the body early. i see a fight very similar to that of cotto/judah...judah wasnt as busy as pacman will be but their speeds are very close, only that i give judah's power a little edge...most of pacquiaos power comes from his speed & not seeing the punch coming...zab has speed & natural welterweight power. the edge i do give pacman, is if & when he hurts cotto he has the ability & killer instinct to jump on cotto & knock him down but i still think cotto would recover quickly..the fact that cotto doesnt clinch could be the cause of a knock down on him but not signify the end of the fight..i believe it will be a war,but cotto's body punching will be the reason why cotto will win at the end. but the jab will be what will set it all up. once pacman taste the jab mosley tasted in his fight,he wont be putting much pressure as many people think...cotto's body punches will slow the pacman down.Last edited by CottoKOsPacman; 09-17-2009, 05:32 PM.Comment

cotto has only lost to plasterboyLol Cotto being overlooked and his butthurt fans being mad about it.
The last fighter Cotto convincingly beat was Michael Jennings, and he did it in 5 rounds which is too much for a bum like Jennings.
A shot southpaw like Corley gave Cotto hell, Judah another southpaw comes off two losses and more than a year of lay off with no tune-up(1 round no contest is not a tune up) and Cotto struggles to put him away so badly that he had to low blow him TWICE in order to get him weak and TKO him in the 11th round.
Manny Pacquiao is a southpaw and he's a much better fighter than Corley and Judah put together. Cotto is in big trouble.
floyd had to rob castillo and barely decisioned a shot oscar
floyd is in big trouble too... oh wait, he's fighting a FWComment

Why does it take a Nostradamus to be able to predict that? It's quite easy, far easier than you seem to think. Look. I predict Cotto will win. There, it was easy. I didn't need to be a Nostradamus to be able to say that!
The fact is, it's a pick 'em fight. There's nothing silly about predicting that either fighter will win in a competitive fight. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Pac wins. But to predict that it will be easy for Pac, and that Cotto won't be able to make it competitive, you either have to swallow a lot of Pac hype, or you have to seriously under-rate Cotto.Comment
