Funniest thing about this is also that the article reads:"exclusive former professional boxer, rather than former hw champion like they would've said if it were anyone else, let alone someone who beat ancient Ali.

Larry Holmes should never have showed his face again after that Ali disgrace. Everyone involved in that fight should have been banned from boxing. Nash out.

I’m not a fan of it personally but I feel like sooner rather than later there’s gonna be a new weight class introduced between Cruiserweight and Heavyweight. Similar to that Bridgerweight sh** the WBC are pushing. Cruiserweight was originally seen as a joke in the late 70’s and 80’s but eventually it became accepted by fans. I’m guessing we get a 200-225 weight class and they call it Junior Heavyweight or some sh** like that.

The problem is I don't think theres anywhere near enough talent for that to happen,& hw would just become a laughingstock

UFC cap their heavyweights at 265.

Seems crazy to me but I wonder if that would ever happen in Boxing.

If fighters learned how to fight with fundamentals, this wouldn’t be an issue.

I wouldn’t like to see it either. Think it makes no sense especially with guys like Usyk proving you can still be 6”3, weigh 220 and succeed at HW.

Yeah I remember Brock had a nightmare making 265 for the Hunt fight. I doubt they’d ever do it in boxing, too much history/tradition with Heavyweight being an unlimited weight class.

Well that's the point of weight divisions. So fighters aren't massively disadvantaged by size/weight. People are getting bigger.
